Thanks Manishkurup =) . It's a Mackie Onyx. I don't have the firewire card, just use it as an analog mixer because you loose the EQ section (which are actually great) if you use the firewire. It basically sends firewire directly from after the preamps. I ilke to use it to aux and buss different synths through, it's quiet as well so I don't mind using it as a regular mixer. As far as gear rich, I might be but I'm dirt poor the rest of the time =p . That's definitely years of saving up is all really, a tax return at the end of they year always helps too.

... always liked the mackies. They do put out some decent gear. Unfortunately they're priced quite high (Couldn't justify the usage), so I used the Behringer for a while. I use my MOTU now, extremely satisfying experience, and has all the inputs I could ever use.

Having all my gear in a single rack is the best option (I live in an apartment) for now, easier to move it all out of sight when I have guests etc. !!

Will consider getting a full fledged mixing console when I buy a house !! Have my eyes on the Mackie.

Yes, that's exactly what I did with my last years tax return (Threw it at the Fantom XR with reckless abandon !!).

Nice setup hallifax! How do you like the EMU? How is the flexibility compared to Fantom X, and also the loading times? I'm looking for one myself, infact, I'd exchange it for my Kawai K5KW if i can find one willing to trade.

I'm a college student in austin. I've certainly not improved my playing over these that much by which i mean, i used to play marginally better a couple of years ago because I practiced classical music everyday and had gigs now and then. I completed grade 8 in western music piano when i was a sophomore in high school. Now, my playing is just okay, and i'm trying to get back onto my feet by picking up classical music again. Currently, i'm overwhelmed by the presence of all this equipment around me and still slowly getting used to it.

That's the name of our band. When the X7 is idle I have it set up for screensaver mode and it rotates between various photos of the band in action and our logo, in case anyone is peeking around on stage.

radioman and I have a co-op that jams regularly in Southern California. We combine gear and everyone in the room pretty much plays all instruments.

radioman usually play lead guitar and I cover lead vocals but we both spend alot of time behind the keys. although I do tend to hog time in the "keybicle"
