First impressions of my new (used) fantom x6

4 Sep 2009, 09:38

I have to say I am loving my X6. As I had hoped, it is very user friendly. I still have a lot to learn about it, but I am having a blast banging out sequences on this thing. I had been working primarily with Kontakt and logic etc for the past few years and although I love those tools, it is so refreshing to turn this thing on a go to work. I love the absense of a mouse. I will take buttons and dials any day over a mouse.

Really the sounds are great out of the box and improve with tweaking. The sampling capability (although a step down from my departed emu ultra) is plenty powerful. I also am loving the sequencer. I like the rehearsal mode and the realtime erase. Great stuff. This, as you can tell is my first Roland product and i am a happy camper.

Just thought I would share...

Glad to hear you're having fun with your new baby, dead2006.

There are still a few of us hardcore X users on here, so feel free to post any questions or tips you stumble across. We can all learn something from other users

Welcome to X Club.
I suggest you load your X with SRX expansion boards, so you will have almost a G.
In my X6 I have installed the SRX 01 - Drums / SRX 06 - Complete Orchestra / SRX 12 - Electric Pianos. I have everything I want from my X and it has good sound, easy to use, so I do not mean to exchange it for a long time.

Julio.

Welcome to the X World

And yes, the SRX-06 is a good choice.
So, good luck and happy music.
