Just Sold my G, bought the X back..

Well, for all the people around here complaining about their G :-) I just sold mine and bought the Fantom X7 (I used to have one before). After playing with the G for 3 months I found out that the G does have a larger internal sound and sound somewhat fatter here and there, but the expansion possibilities on the X (SRX) and the easy Live-Playing in combinition with Song/RPS mode made me make my descision. At this moment the X suits my live-playing needs better..

I do like the G, but I'll wait for a new board form
that will be significantly better than the X.

Well, maybe you just got used to the X and did not like the new workflow of the G. I like both of them, but still prefer the new possibilities of the G's sound engine - namely the vast amount of effects and the 64-step LFO. All in all it's what you get best results with. Both are fantastic instruments.

I agree.. The routing of effects in the X suits me better at the moment.. I don't use the LFO.
Well, maybe in a new year with a new update and an ARX B3 i'll get back to the G ;-)

I miss my X mainly for the 5 years of sounds/kits I created that are gone.

I do miss the sequencer as well, but I would hope Roland would fix the issues with it to really make the G a true upgrade in every sense of the word from the X. The mouse has so much potential in editing, and the only place you can click and drag is on the phrase window in song edit mode? An updated phrase sequencer that gave you the option of other than 4/4 would be great. Lastly, they need to improve the phrase editing functions to let you edit a phrase in song mode without having to leave song mode. I like hearing the individual phrase to edit (and wouldn't want to see that go away), but it would also be nice to be able to make changes within song mode to hear how the change sounds within the song.

LOL! new trend! that just hilarious.....seriously, I'm afraid it could be so I'll just shut up and concentrate on my "G"(irl) before it become X, oh my...hope not...:(

The 'X' is a 'classic' board and I'm thinking 'Vintage Synth' Hall of Fame! I love my 'G', but my 'X' will never be my 'X'! (if you know what I'm sayin') =)

That's funny then I also bought a brand new Fantom X6!
Hey, welcome Spo Elman you are not alone :)

I have got the best price for such a workstation, I mean I have got the Fantom X + 2 SRX boards for the same price as a JUNO STAGE !!

I haven't to think long for my decision. There is no comparison, isn't it? I am waiting for the next Fantom G generation. And the new ARX boards didn't impress me, too.

The X still rocks, yeah! :)

hahahaha, this is funny. reminds of my car hobby where i
prefer my R53 MINI cooper vs the new R56. :D

new does not always mean better!

but then again, i dont know the X so ignorance is a bliss.
my G8 will remain. :p plus, im luvin' the ARX03 too much.
