Let'em have it, Keys!
You know what's real and you speak from experience!
I know that sometimes people think the "Roland Guys" have an agenda for promoting Roland... and that may be our job; but, we are also real users who have been in the game a lot longer than we have worked for Roland.
Roland has some very talented people in their corner: like Mike Acosta, Scott Tibbs, Warren Harris, and our feerless leader Vince LaDuca, just to name a few...
I can promise you that We truly believe in the Roland products, and we put our reputation on the line every time we fight for what we believe in. We listen to our users and we know what people are looking for in future products. We try to be accessible and receptive to suggestions and comments, because we all know that without users, and these forums, Roland doesn't have much.
So trying to say that products like the MPC is "so much better" and "the MV is just a clone" is just silly. If you have any knowledge of the MV-8000, you know the differences, and what they mean to you.
Technology marches on, and the people who embrace it will succeed to make the next hits.

In the order of an order :-)

Hello, Jim.
(Excuse me my “English”.)
I think, there’s a need of some Concert Roland –
like Juno-G, but with

more SRX slots (say, four), because when “It’s showtime!”, there just ain’t no time to load any samples; and while SRX cards are not cheap, purchasing an additional device to hold more of those cards would be way more expensive (I won’t go that strange way); and I don’t feel like carrying many devices – to my mind, a keyboard, a microphone and the cables must be enough.
“Then why not buy the X6?” – I’d prefer Juno-G with more slots. I like black synths. And light weight.

Two. Please, six or seven outputs:
1-2 – stereo pair for playing live,
the rest – for the sequenser:
3-4 – backing arrangement or/and stereo percussion,
5 – a bass track,
6 – a metronome track for a drummer or a drum track (with the seventh output – a stereo drum track).

Three. Could a keyboard workstation like Juno-G (or a couple kg heavier) be compatible with some VGA&mouse option similar to that one for MV-8000 and VS2000?

Four. Could that hypothetical Juno-G-like synthesizer be compatible with VS8F-2/3 cards? (Plus to Juno’s effect processors.)

Let this synth weigh 10 kg when fully loaded.

Well, about “Four” I might be dreaming or simply wrong.
But “One” to “Three” seem to be quite possible.

Best regards,
Oleg.

^Yes yes Oleq!

I would love to see Roland's next line of Flagship keyboards have a user-installable option for VGA/Mouse card, instead of a color touchscreen. Call me crazy. A slot for user-installable DVD-RW would be cool too.

If they took a Fantom X8, doubled the # of user patches, allowed for the SRX CD's to load all the old SR-JV80 patches there, upped it to 192 polyphony, and 32 part multi-timbral, maybe also USB hard drive host, and more (6-8) SRX slots, it would IMHO trump the Oasys and Motif XS, and hold hilltop for 5 years+. Fantom X is really nice, and if it could load old JV80 patches from SRX CD, and had 6 or 8 SRX slots, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. I guess it's 5080 til a Fantom Z/Fantom XL drops.

The next Roland flagstation workstation would also need to add two critical things to stay competitive (or head) of the M3 and Motif XS:

1. More simulatneous effects (at least 5 to be on par with M3, at least 8 dual effects, plus per-part EQ to have parity with the XS)

2. More simultaneious rhythms/arps available in performance mode (at least 4 to be on par with XS, at last 5 to be on par with M3), plus more pre-programmed options to get you going (at least 2,000+ to be on par with M3, at least 6,000+ to be on par with XS).

If the X6 already had these features, I would own one right now. As it is, I'm waiting for the next generation, to see if Roland steps up to the plate. If they do, I'm sold on it!

:)

The demos in Yamaha Europe page were performances recorded directly to the sequencer without any quantisation. You can find more demos here http://www.motifator.com/motifxs/motifxs-listen.php
In that page listen to the demo called " Satisfy "

I too hope that the new Roland Workstation has 8 MFX and pretty much a faster response sequencer.

Yamaha sampled the piano which is widely used. In the version of XS dedicated to piano sounds, they'll include sounds from a variety of pianos, with key off samples.
Thats what I read in their forum.

^ ^^Definitely expanded/improved MFX (8 seems right)
When Overhauling/writing/re-writing FX/MFX code, might as well be backwards compatable with the old SR-JV80 patches on the SRX CD-ROM ? I've read that was a problem for alot of long-time users.

EQ on each of 32 parts would really be great also.
I can't wait.
