Changing a Fantom-G8 for a V-Synth GT

Yeah dude you really made a great move!!

My girlfriend play one and the textures plus the capability to layer the two engines will amaze you for shure!! More than the XT and more than any VSTs. You litterally can GRAB the sounds on this that's freakin' awesome! The patches take life in your hands and the solo violin when played accurately is worth 1/3 the price of the whole unit IMO.

Congrats and post back when you'll get it!

@PauloF
Even if I could afford both I wouldn't because I don't have the space! I already have an acoustic piano, two guitars (acoustic and electric) , a violin, a flute and some other toys, like guitar pedals, amps and a lot of other things. I'm also at med school, so I have a lot of books that require a lot of space.

@Dyonight:
I'm already amazed and I don't even have it in my hands!! I'm dreaming about it!! I really think it will satisfy me in many ways that the Fantom-G8 can't. I'll miss it's keys very much, but everything else can be replaced by Logic and other sample libraries... what made me thing about the V-Synth is that I don't know a single VST that could replace it, not even the new ones. Since I'm all about creating new sounds I think that the GT has great add ons, like the vocoder, ap-synthesis (even if I'll not use at all), cosm, great effects, etc.

One thing I'd like to ask: the keybed on the V-Synth GT, is it good or not??
Comparisons?

Thanks a lot you guys! You're helping me a lot during this choice!

The V-Synth GT is a very good addition to your rig if you are after a performance oriented synth, together a sound creation device. With it's dual core engine, Variprhase and AP synthesis, it is one of a kind instrument.

The keybed is as good as the G6

My Fantom-G8 is gone................ now the V-Synth GT is coming! I think I'll have it in my hand next tuesday!! Finally! After a long wait (I'm trying to do this since january) I'll finally have it next week. The guy already posted it by mail, so I think this is the estimated time for delivery.

Thanks for all who helped me in this choice.

Thank you PauloF for the info about the keybed. I think I'll like it!

It was only U$500,00. =D
I think it was very cheap, it was the G8 (bought in july 2008) + U$500,00. A good deal I guess!

It's in fact new, got it inside the closed box, direct from Roland.
But I guess the "new" is about the keyboard being launched at 2007, isn't it??

I was using it today, in the morning... one thing that got me crazy was the possibility of tweaking the sound. I have the Gaia, but the dept in the GT is not comparable to the Gaia. With one OSC in the GT you can get much better results than using 3 OSC in the Gaia.

I'm just amazed by it!!!!!!!!!!!!
I also think that presets form V2 are not as good as I thought...... but, who cares????? I'm making really great sounds with no pain!

Yes, yes.... I'm really happy! It's very fun!! Enjoying it a lot!

Abraço!
