Question for all you G experts!

honestly I don't give a damn about any respect from you all fanatic kids...
Then why are you posting something here at all? There are plenty of forums on the net where people do not intend to respect each other. This is not such a place. And if you did not realize this since your first time here in 2005 (according to your profile), Roland Clan is probably not for you. (Go on, call me a mad dictator, but I want peace and harmony, what's so bad about it? ;-))

We have heard your opinion once, twice and even a bit more. That's great, but why continue to trash multiple threads with it? Save your time, make some music.
FYI I heard fantom G personally up and close, and the sound is not far from juno-g and there is nothing you can do about it.
It is not far, but it is one level above, since there is a new generator chip and better digital-to-analog converters. The overal sound character hasn't changed much, true, and it's that Roland sound me and many here love and appreciate. It's not a revolution but an evolution. But you can't say that 22 effects, 64 steps in the LFO and a few other goodies is not a major leap for the Fantom-G.

It is not THAT better, but notably better.

So wait though is it not a huge difference in quality? I mean is it just like a little eq was given to the board or are the patches thick and luscious as I have been dreaming they would be? :] Is it like the jump from the triton extreme to the Oasys kinda thing or what be more specific please... I have a history I can relate if you name board history .hehe , please.

p.s. you see a demo would save the day here,now I'm torn..lol

cuborg

Wow man you got some nerve, Some respect please.

You don't give a damn about our respect? You have 479 posts that betray your words, I think you do care.

When Artemio asked you to stop the first time he was very nice about it. But you blew him off in a rude way and made jokes. Then he ask you again but this time he was more firm, to let you know he was serious but you took it the wrong way. Artemio loves this place, and he respects both our post and our characters online.

I think when Artemio said “no more rubbish please” that's what set you off. However I am 100% sure he does not feel yours or anyone's post here is insignifigent, he just wanted you to take him seriously with the matter at hand.

If I am right cuborg then please understand where Artemio was coming from. If I’m not right then I agree with Artemio “Roland Clan is probably not for you”

One more thing guys Artemio has had some awesome things happen to him lately let him have this will deserved recognition. Be both proud of him and happy for him. He would feel the same for anyone of us so help him go as far as he can.

Artemio said once this place is like a tree you have to take care of it or it will die. (Or something to that affect). Well Trees grow and make seeds, those seeds fall to the ground that is made fertile by the leafs that fell in the fall. The seeds then grow into trees and produce there own seeds.

The point

Let his work inspire you to start something good and make it thrive.

We are all musicians here lets continue to look out for our own.

Thanks

It's the same thing when Motif XS and Korg M3 have shown. People were complaining they sound not different than previous ES and EX. Like we are in an early 80 - perhaps now (after 30 years) isn't possible to get such big improvements any more?

Once things get to very high level there is less and less to improve. Then other things may start to have importance.
Hard On!

(Go on, call me a mad dictator, but I want peace and harmony, what's so bad about it? ;-))

I should expect this, hosting a forum in Ukraine, Russia or similar places almost ensure us that we'll have dictatorship instead of free exchange of thoughts. Peace and harmony? lol, nice hypocrisy.

It was silly to get into that discussion here yesterday anyway but I was too stoned to think clearly obviously...

cuborg, first, you should know that you can become a dictator in any country (BTW, your remark regarding Russia and Ukraine really makes no sense when Bush does what he does).

Second, this is the official warning, please stop posting pointless things like that, whether you're stoned or not. Period.

It's always uneasy to handle such situation, and the bad thing is to get back without what we call "losing your face" in Germany.

cuborg, no one censors your thoughts about the Fantom G sound. If you don't hear a difference to the Juno-G (I own one and can't share your view), well I would say that's your problem and leave you with your view ;-) And you know I support critical views against pure Fantom fandom, if I really see a reason to do so...

But you provoke reactions by rudeness, and your remark about being stoned makes it clear to me that you yourself feel uneasy looking back at that. You could easily get things back in line by returning to a more respectful way of expressing your view and giving a signal. But if you continue like that, Artemio is *forced* to react, because no one of us tolerates certain kinds of flaming or offensive behaviour continuously.

Just give a peaceful sign for a new start and it's much easier for all to forget about this silly episode, and no, no "loss of face" has to be feared for anyone...

i think cuborg should apologise to the whole clan. i'm new to this forum, and dissapointed by what he's writing...some of us take what we read here quite seriously....apologise and go make some music. if you think the G and Juno-g sound the same...just say so nicely....its ok to express your opinion, but if others think you're wrong, they're entitled to that too....but please no mud-slinging!
I bring more than a song

no man, this was your last warning to back off, now you're officially dismissed. Period.
Here is your last chance, bullet roll in...

cuborg, I am afraid your presence here doesn't make sense to anyone here anymore - even for yourself. We are sorry but we have to say goodbye to you.

I always vote to give people a chance, because sometimes they just get carried away and find it hard to get back.

But cuborg didn't even show a *glimpse* of insight ...
