The new RD-700NX

The same code works fine in IE on my other website, and I did read that there is a bug in it in certain conditions that will fail auto-scaling of objects... Will try to dig into it and find a workaround.

@ orangefunk, no its not a myth, i wish it was, so please dont infer that because your keybed is fine that my keys mysteriously deteriorated just due to a myth. I said YMMV, you are lucky, i wish i had been...

lol @ paulof... that would be a LOT of scolling on a Blackberry,

@ art, am going to order an ultrawide 345:9 SFWHD display just for this thread in IE8, but hey at least you wont need to resize his picture.. any recommendations for a desk that is 3m wide to support it?.........:)

@Mystic38
lol @ paulof... that would be a LOT of scolling on a Blackberry,

Lol, yes a little bit, but actually the BB is the best device I had (so far) to browse Rolandclan
(Several Windows mobile HTCs, Nokias Communicator, N95, 97, etc)

It is very easy to navigate and very fast, clear screen !! It's a BlackBEAST !! ;-D

EDITED: IE8 sucks (and fails like hell). That's why is not being used professionally at all in my company (and many many others)

Someone tried it already?, Because I'm still not convinced to change my gx by this model, plus I'm totally agree with Mystic38 ... why not a 76-key Rd700NX PHAIII?, Yamaha and korg are clearly showing that their s70xs sv-1 and sell very well

Forgive me please if i didnt research enough before posting .... i have a dearly loved old rd700. ive played the crap out of it and it still takes my abuse. so i was going to go for the gx, then held off for the gx/f, and now im hoping waiting it out might pay off.

i'd like to commit to the 700nx thinking the sound and feel over the old 700 would be justified. im thinking just about everyone would tell me theres a bigger difference between the old 700 and the nx aside from the new buttons and knobs. my biggest issue with the 700 pianos is how they decay.

oh not to brag but luckily i got a juno g thats been going 24 7 for 2 years almost with no display issues.... now it will break and fall on the rd700 and break it :-)

Would it be a huge difference if they gone 76keys? I Think they make more $$$$ by sticking to 88keys and especially in PHAIII.

Instead of 76 keys, why not move/remove the stupid joystick from the keybed area? Why is Roland so married to that thing & being where it is?

They have portable freaking keyboards running on freaking batteries with freaking shortened keyboards, but they still insist on the stupid joystick needlessly lengthening things? Beyond idiotic.

@dewster,
Roland joystick is "beyond idiotic" ?

At least the Roland joystick is ERGONOMIC...opposed to the places where a few manufactures place their "not-very-easy-to-work-with" wheels (look at Nord's, for example, to mention the most obvious one...) ;-).

Besides that with the joystick you can do things that are impossible with the wheels, without using both hands.

Idiotic ??? I'm afraid not !!!

Take care

Maybe dewster was a little harsh by saying "beyond idiotic", but he does have a point about over extending the "Stage Piano" for a function that is more suited for a dedicated synth. I actually like Roland's joystick on their synths, but not for an instrument that is predominately a stage piano. I know that you can control other sound sources (use it as a master keyboard) and the joystick also changes the leslie speed of the VK organ simulator inside, but I really use the RD as a Piano and Electric piano (and that is its main focus). I understand Roland wants to be versatile, but at the cost of making the board longer than it needs to be, I would rather not.
I see that Roland has been listening to customers because they made some tweaks to the NX that many users wanted in the GX. However, I realize that it's cheaper to keep the same mold of the previous RD's rather than truncate the shell (manufacture and mass produce a new mold) for easier transport. That's probably why the joystick is still in effect and why the NX cosmestically is nearly the same as the GX (with some exceptions of course). I'm pretty sure thats one of only customer critiques that they didn't respond to. Ehhh, what can ya do....

but if you are going to play "the great gig in the sky" (ahem) properly, you need the pitch bender :)
