Is very cute
Thank you, Manish. You are very kind!

I must observe that the sidebar contains a grammatical error. It states that I have made
1 posts
where it should read in the singular
1 post.
I trust the Roland Clan will take immediate steps to rectify this important…

Oh, I see it now reads
2 posts.
This is fascinating.

Thanks ...

And actually I never had this kind of problems with a keyboard.
Funny, Jordan Rudess said the same thing in all the time he has been playing with the Dream Theater! :( And might I add, neither have I! ;) Although I am previously a Yamaha gear owner myself and still have one Yammie board. Never in my entire keyboard playing life have I ever even heard of such a problem as a keyboard suddenly playing in direct dissonant half steps against the players obvious will not to do so.

Interesting also is that the first time some other person experiences something like this, it was with a Roland keyboard product as well i.e. the Juno G. ;)

How do you spell trouble? Looks to me like it could turn out to be spelled r-o-l-a-n-d. :D May it never be, but this is really a troubling sign happening with one of the worlds premier keyboard players Fantom G8, and happening during a very important live engagement no less. And yes, because it happened to a big name like Rudess, while the whole world was looking on, that Roland will take it upon themselves to deliver the next OS firmware update for the Fantom G in an expeditious manner. In other words, fast and efficiently and with major improvements and enhancements to version 1.10. ;) God willing, our prayers will be answered. :) And perhaps we will find it in our hearts to forgive Roland of this blundering mishap that has occurred with this their current flagship workstation - the Fantom G. >> That's only if they fix the problem(s) though of course. :D If they fail in their efforts to deliver the goods you most likely will see people jumping ship all over the place looking for another 'qualified' keyboard manufacturer that knows HOW to get it right. ;) And everyone knows they won't be heading in Alesis' direction either.. :D Which narrows the field even more unfortunately. ;)

>> I'm still counting on Roland to come through though. I just need to be patient and believe for the best. :)

Funny you mention Alesis. I don't think Roland would like to be compared to them. But it is painfully true. I can also add to my own Fantom G experience as I posted in another thread- I played a G88 at a local shop and to my horror, found a slew of brass PRESETS to be off by a semitone- yet all other presets were fine. The other issue was obvious waveform truncation as I played (erhu for example- would cut off when I released the key). Again, this was from a preset. I even switch to other modes and came back- still had the issues. I turned off the keyboard, and voila- the issue existed. So yet another unit that had something faulty in its software/firmware/hardware.
What do you think would happen if a real high profile act had this happen to them during a show- like Justin Timberlake (thought of him as I know he was on Rolands site before).

I guess the question is- has this happened to an Oasys/Triton/Motif/Kurzweill? Would be interesting to see if this is just normal with all manufacturers.

Mr. Manish It is true that I only correct incorrect sentences. I do not even correct correct sentences. However, I wish you good luck with your RPS question!

Mr. Keysme
How do you spell trouble?
T-R-O-U-B-L-E. That was easy.

Mr. Javaj
a slew of brass PRESETS
I believe the correct collective noun would be "a murder of brass presets," but I may be mistaken.

So, it's actually good that it happened with Jordan Rudes, otherwise Roland wouldn't pay much attention to the average users. Hopefully the new OS is coming soon...... but, Art can keep using the same 1.10.

.. maybe Jordan Rudess buys his Fantom G from Roland for $8000, unlike us (average users) who have to pay $2600?

Or maybe he buys an expensive service contract ;)?

It shouldnt be this way!!

Hey all, Jordan gave an update on his website yesterday describing the incident in more detail, apparently it was all due to the synth taking a big knock during transport and it bumped the contact board.

really stupid from him to use a case like this...

he is a profi and should know that this can happen so i couldn't understand why he wrote on his page that the roland fantom-g was broken and that he used a stupid case for the gig...

If you read the first words from his website anyone start thinking about the quality of the Roland Fantom-G,
but in real, that happened because he was to lazy to buy a real case for it, stupid, really..

Roland, thumbs up! Your endorser was a bad guy he wanted to move the black Peter into your shoes.. :)
You made a good working synth ! :D

sorry but that new posting at JRs forum sounds like bloggers remorse to me.
Whatever the reason for the malfunction of the Fantom was, the people at Roland were surely not amused about the fact that someone who gets paid to promote the brand is making something like this public.
He probably got the heat for that and is now trying to put out the fire.
But its quite obviously a rather lame attempt IMO.
the difference between theory and practise is that in theory there is no difference

Oh yeah, Mr Rudess must be really scared.... Roland threatened to take his G8 away...

I can confirm Mr.JR was throwned down the stairs at the Roland Office back in Hamamatsu R&D center and landed inside the anechoic chamber. Roland Engineers took the opportunity to check the early reflexions of Mr.JR face slapping. His behaviour was unacceptable.
He is OK now. Good-heart Secret Roland Agents and C.I.A agents decided to give him a second chance and he was set free to keep his work with Roland.
