Re: Juno-G features, or lack of them

" I think the Juno G will be a better deal at FULL price than the Fusion ever was at CUT price.
Apples and Oranges-depends on what you need.
And the Fusion was released FAR too early-way flawed.
It's sounds don't even BEGIN to compare to Rolands... "

Well, um, I have an X and a Fusion, I can tell you the Fusion compares extremely well in the sound department ...
I don't know what you're basing your analysis on, but mine is from extensive studio use with the latest OS and all of the soundbank additions and scads of free programs from Hollow Sun ...
... with four synthesis types -- it really does make a difference you can hear -- nothing's "blowing away" the Fusion ...
... so much so that I'm considering selling my X7 (if the Fusion was 76 key, it probably would have happened already) ... but they're just different enough that I'll probably keep both (for now anyway) ... and keep in mind, this is judging against the X, which costs twice as much as the G and has MANY features the G lacks.
... one Fusion feature that's particularly nice for getting a great sound every time is the super-easy-to-use front panel EQ controls ... I find the Fantom's EQ unusable on-the-fly ...
As for the Fusion being released too early ... perhaps ... but just about everything has been fixed since then ... new buyers have nothing to worry about ... and we can all thank the early bugs for the crazy-low price now ...
The Juno-G and Fusion are hardly "apples and oranges" ... if they are, it's only becuase the Fusion is a real-full-featured workstation while the Juno-G is a wannabe workstation ...
I'm not saying the Juno-G is a bad choice ... anything but ... however, your statements are a tad over the top and perhaps more than a little uninformed against somebody who currently owns both of the machines in question (granted, my Roland is the X -- but I don't think anybody is saying the G will sound BETTER than the X).
BTW, if you're trying to present yourself as in the know and authoritative, it perhaps would be best not to start your post with a simple question like "What is RPS?"
Oh, and about the piano sounds ... can't say for myself ... but actual people with Internet connections have heard the G's new piano ... the board's out in Japan and has been played with at trade shows, etc.
There's no way it will be as good as the Fantom's Ultimate Grand, which may mean it will be on par with the Fusion's Holy Grail Piano, which is quite decent and playable.
Goes particularly well EQed against the X7s Ultimate Grand, capabe, in one application, of giving it, IMO, a very Motif-like piano ... (a kind of full-bodied shrillness and "perfection" of sound) ... impressive but unrealistic and tacky ... too ice-pick ... Ice picks are for bartenders and Sharon Stones.
