Call Tom Merritt at Music Center 800 697-9393 X241. What I'd suggest is give him a call when you're ready to buy something. I've found them to consistently have the lowest prices in the country. Sweetwater is the fastest, but MC is a very reputable dealer too, it might take a day or two longer to get something from them. They have two full time tech's so if you do need any service, they take care of it. They sell anything that's worth owning. Give them a shot.

my questions were :

it is possible to play smf on th 700sx. but is it possible to mute some tracks, or to assign a specific sound to any of them ?
in the user manual, they only specify it is possible to change the tempo.

I've once played on a RD700 and have been a bit disapointed with almost all the sounds (factory presets, indeed)... I really hope SX has big improvement about this...
in fact, I just wonder if rhodes, wurli, and tonewheel organs are descent, or if its possible to have descent ones by combining internal sounds and effects).
I'm not really a EP addict, I am just looking for 'sound closed to' ep (for instance, if i play the intro of supertramp 'goodbye stranger', i'm loking for 'quite the same' sound, if you see what i mean)
I know that it is a very subjective question and will have to test it by myself by the way, but if someone could give his feeling....

I'm about to buy a second hand RD-700, and the only reason I'm considering buying it is that I need a 88-key keyboard with great action.

Are there any differences between 700 and 700SX keyboards?

Hi Sam, I have owned both, side by side for a month, too

The keyboard action between the 700 and 700Sx is 99 % identical, IMO

You are aware of the tonal difference between the 2 ?

Thanks for the reply, GregC. I already own a Fantom-x7, Steinberg's The Grand v.2 and Synthogy's Ivory. So the new piano sounds, USB MIDI and other new stuff are not that important to me. In other words I am looking for a decent 88-key MIDI controller.

Do you think 900 CND is fair for a used RD-700 or not? The guy wants to sell it to the best offer so I have no idea about the price.

Hi Sam , that is $780 USD.

I recall selling mine for over $1200 a year ago. Assuming the Rd700 is in perfect condition, that is a very sharp price

Your best guide is to go to eBay and search closed auctions for the Rd700

I think Roland does a great job on the RD keyboard action.

900 CAN$ is 660€.

This is an excellent price for an RD700. I will never sell mine for that price!!!

The guy won't sell it for this price either! I was going to offer him 900 but then he said he want to sell it for around 1500 CND.

Anyways, my last offer was 1200 CND. Hope to get it for that price.
