Effects Processing - S88/Cubase - Fantom-S and Fantom-X

Effects Processing - S88/Cubase

I'd be grateful for some general recording advice regarding using effects processors. My very limited knowledge tends to think that I'd be better off recording "dry" from the S88 and adding all the effects and mixing within Cubase ... errrmmm does that sound the right thing to do?

Always grateful for any help and advice ... thanks in advance!

It's a yes.

I record each track individually to Cubase and then apply EQ and effects to create the mix I want.

i do this too, although i do add effects in the fantom-s....how do you guys then prepare songs for live performance? when what is in your fantom sounds nothing like the finished product on the computer...

Personally, I only record to Cubase when I am doing a recording to go to CD or MP3... for live performances I don't use any sequencing as I play in a full band.

ok, well im in a rap-ish band, where i make all the music...so for live, its usually me playing drums over an ipod (songs with vocals/drums removed)....i dont see how i could do anything different.
