Shaman,

You'll have to help us out a little here in order to get some assistance. More info is needed.

Which board do you have? X or S?

How are you setting your Start and End points for the loop? Please give the exact entries.

Does this happen on every sequence or just one?

When you say "tried everything", please give some examples of what you've done. Your problem may just be procedural.

Provide any information that you can and you will be able to get help more quickly.

hi. thanks for replying bassman.
for starters i have a fantom s. i have a 6 measure sequence is set to loop at 06/002 but it doesn't sound the same when it loops over. i've tried setting the end point at 06/003 but it has like a brief pause before it starts over. is there anyway to fine tune the loop (i.e. 06/002/???)?

If you have to loop an exact number of bars (measures) your loop start and end should always be at xx-01-000 (e.g. from 01-01-000 to 05-01-000 to loop first four bars).

hey artemio,
i don't know what i'm doing wrong. i've started working on a simple loop like a 4 bar sequence setting the end point at the 5th measure but it still sounds like the beat over laps (does that make any sense?). i'm thinking to myself, do i have to cut off a note in order for sequence to catch right?

This almost surely means that at the very end of the last (4th) bar you have notes that in normal mode sound like the start of 5th bar. Just look in the micro edit.

shaman...have you quantized your sequence?

I'm not sure if you know about quantizing, but it basically acts as a procedure that rounds your midi notes to the nearest unit that you have it set to.

This may be why your sequence sounds overlapped....you may have notes from the 5th measure that you played to early in the 4th, but the loop is going straight to 5/1. Does that make sense?

Try this if you haven't already.....go to the track edit screen and choose quantize...I think it's #1. quantize your sequence to the 1/16 note then see what your sequence sounds like.

If you've already done this, then my bad.

well, the beat does not exactly end on the 4 beat on the 4th bar. it like 04-04-132 or something like that. so i figured that if i looped it on the 5th bar it would work itself out but it sounds like garbage.
as far as quantizing, i have never tried it because i don't know how to manipulate the function correctly. i ain't gon front. i'm still a baby working with this thing so bear with me guys. sometimes i want to throw this thing thru the window!!!

I find that looping causes a hiccup when it jumps back to the start point. If you have start at 1-0-0 and end at 5-0-0, try paying a rhythm pattern on the pads while it loops with the sequencer playing. Every time it starts back at 1-0-0 the rhythm pattern hiccups. Even if there are no events in the sequencer tracks or patterns. Change the start and end locations (on measure boundaries of course) and its still the same.

Is this the looping problem you are experiencing? It appears to be just the way it works, which is not very well in this case.
