Relationships between zenology, the fantom, and the xv/srx synths
6 Oct 2022, 15:22So, here I am, with my fresh Roland cloud subscription, and now I'm trying to work out what the various permutations between the content in cloud, and the hardware are.
* Zenology seems to just be one zone of a fantom workstation with the zen core presets, but no global reverb/chorus, the idea being you'd bus tracks out to common fx.
* The same model expansions work on the fantom, and zenology.
* no other synth engines in software. No V-piano, super natural acoustic, organ. etc.
* the XV/jv and srx plugins are more complete, featuring the global reverb/chorus, but still only monotimbral.
* What's the point of having both srx, and wave expansions for xenology? Much of it seems to be srx, but I do see some additional content, too.
Definitely curious for peoples thoughts.
