Why is the D50 being ignored for the Fantom?

Why is the D50 being ignored for the Fantom?

I think the new Zencore technology is sort of the next evolution in many ways of LA Synthesis with it's combination of PCM sampled waveforms, virtual analog synthesis etc does anyone else feel it's weird the D50 isn't getting any love in terms of the expansions and such for the Fantom? It seems like a no brainer. I figured for sure they would have included both the D50 and JD8000 by now within the Fantom but they haven't.

IMHO Roland has no interest in developing a Model Bank for D-50 because they actually offer its virtual counterpart via Roland Cloud. Other alternatives are D-05, if avaliable or still the old and faithful D-50 and D-550.
Same said for the JD-800 which is already present as a virtual instrument or, if you prefer, as a Boutique module, JD-08.
Instead of wasting energies on recreating synthesizers that already exist, even though in a different format, Roland should concentrate, for instance, in developing a serious Editor Librarian to manage more easily a beast like the Fantom or, at least, develop new synth engines, bring a linear sequencer, implement new sampler functions and so on.

there are a whole lot of D50 patches ported to the fantom, I think you are thinking in the opposite direction though. A lot of the popular d50 patches are on it.

To go further off track, I have a d05, great little box, but the fantom is just so far beyond it in sound and function.

I don't think that's the reason, because other model bank emulation have also been offered via Roland Cloud, and that didn't stop them.
