Transposing via Midi command
4 Feb 2020, 13:49Hi,
I recently updgrading from an XP50 and am trying to figure out the midi comands to transpose. I'm not great at midi, but very handy for live sets to have the right key selected when I open a tune.
For the XP50 somebody took pity on me (thanks rcraven) and calculated this list:
F0 41 10 6A 12 00 00 00 2C 00 54 F7 = -5
F0 41 10 6A 12 00 00 00 2C 01 53 F7 = -4
F0 41 10 6A 12 00 00 00 2C 02 52 F7 = -3
F0 41 10 6A 12 00 00 00 2C 03 51 F7 = -2
F0 41 10 6A 12 00 00 00 2C 04 50 F7 = -1
F0 41 10 6A 12 00 00 00 2C 05 4F F7 = 0
F0 41 10 6A 12 00 00 00 2C 06 4E F7 = +1
F0 41 10 6A 12 00 00 00 2C 07 4D F7 = +2
F0 41 10 6A 12 00 00 00 2C 08 4C F7 = +3
F0 41 10 6A 12 00 00 00 2C 09 4B F7 = +4
F0 41 10 6A 12 00 00 00 2C 0A 4A F7 = +5
F0 41 10 6A 12 00 00 00 2C 0B 49 F7 = +6
THey don't seem to work on the FA08 (Was hoping that was an easy one) But I'm not sure if there's any setting i need to change so that it will recieve midi commands or how to change what channel it'll receive them on. in the xp50 I found those in the menu, but no luck yet!
Any help appreciated
EDIT: Found the midi setting! But no joy with transpose midi codes yet!
EDIT2: I have the first few parts of the command i think but struggling to combine the start address, offset and Transpose
[1]..[2]..[3]....[4].......[5]
F0...41...10..00 00 77...12
This is the start of it i think, the first 5 parts.
Then I have the following:
Start Address: 01 00 00 00 H
Offset Address: 00 0C H
Sum of both is: 01 00 00 0C
0000 aaaa | Transpose Value (59 - 70) Is the transpose info, does the aaaa mean they get values from 59 up to 70? So i add all three together i think? and that becomes the 6th part?
59...70 in hex dec 3B,3C, 3D,3E, 3F, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46
So lowest value (59)
01 00 00 47
[1]..[2]..[3]....[4].......[5]........[6]
F0...41..10...00 00 77..12......01 00 00 47
I don't know what the 7th part should be?
(i'm getting closer but a tip would be appreciated)
The dots are as i can't get things to line up using spaces and don't know how to use tabs!
