Random arpeggio not so random. Are we just stuck with this?

Random arpeggio not so random. Are we just stuck with this?

Hi, I've been looking everywhere and posting in forums but nothing yet. I'm trying to use the random arp with 2+ oct range and playing 3 note chords. I've only heard true random notes coming from older Rolands like Jupiters, Jp8000 but not my JD-Xi or Juno-G. They have some repeatable patterns. I have an Akai MiniAk that works perfectly but plan to sell it.

Here is an example of what is going on. The JD-Xi is first and the MiniAK 2nd...

I figured it out. It's a problem with using +/- octave range. Set it to 0 and play chords over 2 octaves with both hands and you get random pattern. That sounds like a bug to me.

What I did to not have to play both hands to get the 2 octave arp was play a c major chord with 6 notes and sequenced it. Then I turned on the Interactive chord feature and muted the drum part (not using it). Now I can trigger the arp by playing chords on the drum part and just switch to another part to play my strings. It doesn't matter that I keep changing chord inversion. The arp plays the same no matter what. And best of all it is now truly random. But way harder than it should be. And for some reason triggering the arp sequence this way plays doubled notes when I change chords if I'm not perfect on my timing. Shouldn't hear it in the mix.
