RD-2000 Carry Case

Hi All,

First time poster here! Have searched the forum and can't seem to find any answer.

I'm looking for a soft carry case for my RD-2000, I have been using a RoadRunner RXP15KB for 4 years and has served me well but finally gave up last weekend, really struggling to find anything decent on the market.

I want something that's almost the exact dimensions of the RD-2000 with wheels.

What are you guys & girls using??

Thanks,

Josh

Hi Josh,

I use a custom gig bag.

Check http://www.mooradian.com/
Phone: (857) 540-5724 in U.S.A.

They are great. Just tell them what you want, and the exact dimensions of the RD 2000.
Width: 1,412 mm (55-5/8 inches)
Depth: 367 mm (14-1/2 inches)
Height: 140 mm (5-9/16 inches)
Tell them it's for the Roland RD 2000.

Their gig bags look amazing, it's a luxury; very affordable, and very protective; great value.

They made a dream gig bag for me with extra padding for extra protection, and at the same time it's lightweight.

The best gig bag I have ever had.

Contact them, they are really good and affordable.

Hi Josh,

I'm glad you like the idea. And as I said, they are really good. They are as good as Mercedes Benz in cars but in gig bags. Really good.
Just tell them what you need, and all details. You will have a good deal.

Best,
RD2000Fan

I use a Gator case with my RD2000. It has carrying handles but it's not going to be easy finding a truly flexible gig bag type that has wheels.

You may have to compromise the flexibility for the benefit of having the wheels.

The Gator case (in the UK) is about £100 and has carrying handles on the side, and a handle on the top for pulling along.

Hey @Thepianoplayer could you please send me the model number of the Gator case and I'll check it out.

I only really want to stay with soft(ish) case because of hard cases trashing the interior of my car with constant loading in/out but my search seems to be a tricky one!

Thanks,

Josh

Hi Josh,

I use a Gator GK-88 case. It has gone up in price a bit since I bought mine but you can buy it from Amazon if you're not close to a music retailers.

Getting it into your car is best achieved by putting the top end in first and then pushing it forward from there. Reversing the process at the gig is easy as you just lower it out onto its wheels.

Hope the info helps.

Out of interest, why wheels? I'd never bounce z keyboard around on wheels, just too fragile.

Purely as the keyboard is heavy, if you're loading in to a venue that is more than about 20 second walk from the van to the stage then wheels are essential surely? I'm not prepared to put my back out loading in. Worth noting that I only ever use the wheels on even ground, never done any of my keyboards any harm in 15+ years
