Record on the go / JD XA in live situation

Can you record and erase sequences of JD XA while the sequencer is playing? Real-time or Step rec.

I am a happy owner of JD-Xi, thinking of getting more real-time control and sounds with the JD-XA, thinking about an upgrade... but I use synthesizers in 100% live situations, no pre-recorded sequences samples etc. Is the JD XA good for this kind of stuff?

I believe it allows overdubbing etc., but the sequencer is worse on the JD-XA than the JD-Xi... when they added in the chaining mode and such to the JD-Xi us JD-XA owners got an uppercut to the face. Flagship product neglected by paying attention to the younger brother - again! They did the same to their VG-99 guitar system (to this day the most advanced COSM guitar system, but discontinued because they decided to support it's little brother more).

This being said the JD-XA is a superior synthesizer. I'd strongly suggest pairing it with a Synthstrom Deluge (sequencer/sampler/drum machine/synth/DAW in a box).
