Integra 7 Appreciation

I've been super busy lately and didn't have any time to play with my gear, just for pure fun. I finally had a day off and explored the Integra for what ended up being several straight hours today, and I just want to say this is one mighty fine instrument!

What's your favorite thing about it? For me I love the "endlessness" of it. I mean, I can never run out of sounds on this thing. It's like I have a whole planet to explore in this box.

ITT - tell me why you love the Integra 7 and are happy to own one!

Well... there are so many good things I can say about the Integra-7...

- Rock Solid
- Easy of use
- Mountains of sounds and combinations/layers (maybe more than enough for a life time)
- stunning guitars, Basses, Drum kits, Pianos, Violins, Voices...
- 4x Assignable Stereo Outs
- Behavior modeling
- Sound Quality

Combies is the Korg name for Performances :-)

When I say combinations in the Roland context, I meant combination of Parts and Layers, and yes, I make them myself

For me it was the luxury of having all 12 of the SRX-Expansion boards together in well fell swoop!

And with tons of great sounds and the Supernatural realism to boot...well, it is just one heavy duty machine!

The Integra is BY FAR the best digital synth ever made. It really is endless but above that, QUALITY.

The guitars on this board are first class and no one from the competition come even close!

And as SW said, the mix of SuperNatural voices with the SRX based PCM ones gives us endless possibilities

I needed to cut down my gear a while ago.

The Kronos and the Motif XS went.

The Integra-7 stayed!

I voted with my feet.

The XV-5080 went today after 10 months' advertising. Even in brand-new, completely unmarked condition with 8 cards, it was tough to sell.

Trying to reduce the size of my rig here too. Too many choices these days. Makes for a lot of time wasting.

Dramatic reduction here too (due to other reasons...)
RD170, SonicCell, DR-880, Fantom-Xa, V-Synth XT, UA-25Ex, FA-101, BR-864, Behringer 1204Fx and Mackie 1642 VLZ3 Mixers, Presonus AB 1818 VSL, 42 Year old Ibanez Concord Guitar ---> All Sold!! and the PCR-500 and A-800 PRO MIDI Controllers just went in smoke... (broke)

Only staying: INTEGRA-7, MOXF6, UM-550, DR-3 and Yamaha MG-06X :-)

Ha! Similar here, P-Man!

I too am keeping the INTEGRA and Motif XS Racks, along with the Supernova I, TD-30 module, Yammy P50-m and VL70-m. That's all the MIDI gear I'll need... I hope. Gotta reduce channel (audio) count so I can hopefully upgrade to MOTU's AVB system using USB on my 2012 Mac. Awaiting feedback on latest firmware which has apparently made the upgrade possible (I think). Previously, one would have to purchase a trash can Mac and all the peripherals for drives etc. so as to use Thunderbolt. I was so bummed and have been waiting since July last year in the hope a software tweak might make a multi-unit network feasible over USB with a workable channel count. As I said, it could be on the cards now (as of 3 weeks ago), but feedback & confirmation are necessary. It's a huge leap of faith to switch from a MOTU PCI-based system that's run completely glitch-free for 15 years to... uuuggghhh... USB2.

Selling all L6 gear except for guitars - HD500, X3 Pro Rack, FBV Longboard and Bass PODxt.

Also Focusrite Voicemaster Pro preamp and Nova (in custom stand I made - wood, chocolate brown finish, brass screw heads and hidden weight in rear to prevent accidental tipping) must go.

Assuming this all happens, all I'll need to do then is build a vocal booth and... away we go! Fingers crossed...

Good luck, bro'.

You are quite right JeffB63, as I'm exploring much more my two synths now than ever before!

One more MIDI Keyboard Controller and I'm set :-)

Hi M-Man!
In fact selling the Presonus AB1818 VSL was necessary but a bad idea, as now I'm stuck with the MOXF6 as an Audio Interface, with only 4 channel INPUT so I need to MIX the Integra 6 Channel Outputs (A=Main, B=Bass, C=Drums) before reaching the Audio interface, meaning having to record Audio in more passes than before, but oh well... maybe I'll get Audio Interface by Christmas ;-)

Take care
Paulo
