FA 06 + FA08

If you by "seamless transition" mean what we call "patch remain", the Kurzweil PC-3 series have this implemented. It even works a lot better than on the Fantom-G. I own both, and use them in studio and on stage. The OASYS (I got the 88), does not have this function :-(

Jupiters, FA series, Kronos and Motif XF all have some sort of seamless patch change. Everyone does it a little differently. With Motif you need to be in performance mode. The Jupiter tone generator is seamless but the MFX are not - depending on how radical FX change you will probably hear some difference. My guess is FA series is exactly the same. Kronos probably has the best implementation but I'm sure there are limitations with their scheme.

You are correct, Denvor.

The FA series does have 'seamless' patch change capability.

In the Motif/MOX series, you have to be in Song/Pattern mode (not Performance), and then you can seamlessly switch among specified sets of 16 sounds that you can create.

The limitation of the Kronos version is that a single held sound cannot persist through two patch changes.

I don't think that the organ tones would be considered Supernatural acoustic or synth tones so...that leaves PCM. :)

FYI: Organs are classified as "SuperNATURAL Acoustic" on the Integra-7.

The FA may not have SuperNatural Organ like the Roland VR09 Combo Organ!

How do you know FA has this "seamless transition"? I am really confident it has not Because in the sweetwater demo you can hear perfectly clear when he changes the patch the sound cuts off abruptly, it does not continue after the change, which in Fantom goes until it naturally dissapears.

Believe me, I would like it to have this because there are many things I like about FA and could use, but not if smooth sound transition is missing... I am too used to playing, for example, lush evolving pad and change the patch preparing the next intervention, and let the sounds blend, whereas without this function the pad sound would be cut off and the next sound will begin.

At 1:25 you can see and hear that it has patch remain:)

I wonder if there will be SN expansion packs for the FA.
I read that the SN 'acoustic' section (everything which is not synth or drums) is a very limited selection from the Integra, not even having any of the el.guitars.
That's a shame, because to me Roland's strength lies in the SN engine, so the option to add new SN instrument expansion packs would be very welcome.

Furthermore it would be nice if you could assemble your own virtual cards since there are only two virtual slots.
What I mean by that is that you can combine different instruments from different expansion packs into one pack so that the number of virtual slots does not become too much too much of a limitation.

Oh, I almost forgot, it would really REALLY be nice if the FA offered the ability to assign a controller to the drawbars of the organ.

I saw on some display pictures that the SN-A Preset Tone 'Ac Bass 1' had the number 72. So you can be sure that there are at least 72 SN-A sounds in the FA. This is at least more thant I feared at first (the BK-9 only has 22 of them).
I don't think there is a 'patch remain' function, because the Integra doesn't have it and the FA is completely based on the Integra, furthermore there is no hint to it in the product description on roland.com, and Roland would point out that feature.

Gareth demoed the patch remain feature on the Sonicstate video. Check it out.

It seems to me like that may be a video cut.

Jupiter 50/80, Integra-7, VR09, and FA all categorize the organ as SuperNatural... which is really just Roland's terminology for the sounds that incorporate modeling. So really, the way I see it, even the older VR-700 and VK-8 would qualify as SN (they are modeled), they just hadn't come up with that marketing phrase yet. That doesn't mean that all these organs are identical in their sounds and features, though. The Jupiter, VR, and FA SN organs could have differences despite sharing the SN designation, just as numerous Roland SN pianos are different from each other.
