New INTEGRA-7 SN-Acoustic Instrument Models for JP-80?

Not true.

It looks like there are two kinds of synth sounds... SuperNATURAL synth tones, which can consist of up to 3 partials, and PCM synth tones which can consist of up to 4 partials. I think the SN synth section corresponds to the synth section of the Jupiter 80/50, and the PCM synth section corresponds to the architecture and sound set brought over from the XV-5080?

The I-7 Parameter Guide just confirms what you wrote. You have the full editability of a XV-5080, resp. Fantom-G on the I-7!!! So there is not only a fully-fledged SuperNATURAL engine on board of the I-7, but also a fully-fledged PCM Synth à la XV-5080 or Fantom-G.

I am quite sure, that the next Roland workstation will look very similar to the Integra-7, but with 256 voices.

You are probably very right "anotherscott", because the Integra-7 Parameter Guide lists only 77 SN Acousic Tones in the SN Tone CC Assign List of the stock presets. This list is almost identical to the JP-80's list and they differ just a little bit, as the I-7 offers e.g. some SN Acoustic Choir Tones instead of some trombone variations.

I guess the I-7 offers some same SN Acoustic Tones just with different effect settings. So my statement above was based on wrong assumptions.

I'm actually more confused about this now.

First, it looks like I was wrong about SN Acoustic Tones not being editable on the Integra. The Parameter Guide shows all the same editable parameters for these tones on the Integra as there are on the Jupiters.

However, on a Jupiter 80, the 77 SN Acoustic Tones listed in various places in the Parameter Guide correspond to the 77 SN Acoustic Tones in the voice list. On the Integra, the 77 SN Acoustic Tones listed in various places in the Parameter Guide do not correspond to the voice list at all!

For example, the Integra Parameter Guides lists "INT: 029 TW Organ" (and it supports all the drawbar editing it has on a Jupiter 80), but unlike on the Jupiter, there is no "TW Organ" in the Voice List. So is there another "layer" to the architecture now? i.e. is there a single underlying "TW Organ" model used for the 22 SN organ voices, and the Parameter Guide tells us of the underlying model, which can no longer be selected directly, while the Voice List gives us patches based on those models? This is a distinction that did not exist before, in terms of stock sounds, where the selectable tones seem separate from the underlying models. Or maybe I am completely misunderstanding what is going on here.

Another example of the confusion: The Integra has fewer Rhodes models listed in the Parameter Guide than the Jupiter, yet it has more selectable Rhodes patches. Specifically, the Jupiter lists these seven Rhodes instruments, both in the Parameter Guide AND Voice LIst:

Pure Vintage EP1
Pure Vintage EP2
Pure Vintage EP3
Tined EP1
Tined EP2
Old Hammer EP
Dyno Piano

The Integra lists only these five in its Parameter Guide:

Pure Vintage EP1
Pure Vintage EP2
Pure Vintage EP3
Old Hammer EP
Dyno Piano

and NONE of those appear in the Voice List, which instead includes '76 Pure, '73 Pure, '76 Stage, '73 Stage, '76 Tine, '73 Tine, '81 Tine, Felt Tine, Dyno Tine, and some more. In total, the Integra has more selectable Rhodes sounds than the Jupiter, despite having fewer Rhodes instruments listed in the Parameter Guide. Are these Integra tones, in effect, a greater number of variations from a fewer number of underlying models? And are these variations simply different noise, EQ and FX applications to the same SN models, such that they could actually be recreated in a Jupiter 80 (to the extent that the same fx are available)? Or are there perhaps some additional, new Rhodes models not listed in the Parameter Guide (perhaps because there are no adjustable parameters for them)? Or are there some other "hidden" parameters in the Integra that are somehow generating more variations from the underlying models which cannot be generated on the Jupiters? Or...?

Hey guys, in Brazil we had the EXPOMUSIC last week, and I spent couple hours on Integra 7. You can actually edit the organ. It is a clonewheel, so, on edit page you have all the 9 drawbars and the values 0 - 8 for each one. You also have the rotary speaker effect and many parameters on the EDIT INSTRUMENT page.
I hate to work on the module, but the Integra is very easy to navigate and edit. With a nice keyboard controller you can set the drawbars using CCs.
I was very impressed with the sound quality of the integra.

Those EP variations are probably based on the new MFX in the Integra: EP AmpSim.

It has the different amp and speaker types, derived from the ARX-02.

This gives the EP:s in the Integra much more tweaking possibilities, compared with the JP-80.

I am bitter over this, as I always wondered why Roland didn't include more parameters to edit in the JP-80 in regard to the Supernatural electric piano.

If this MFX was to be added to the JP-80 in a future update, it would greatly enhance the EP:s.

Are you sure about this? That would be a nice advantage over the Jupiters, but looking at the Integra MIDI Implementation manual, I don't see anything indicating that that is the case. I consider lack of CC control over drawbar parameters to be a major oversight, I would love to see that addressed.

Why do companies keep putting these 2 channel stereo usb interfaces on there keyboards , don't they know we need multi-channel output to our DAW's . Is Access virus ti and Motif XF the only one's who get this.

Take the JP-80 for instance , every part should have it's own separate output , analog or digital interface .
The Integra-7 , should have a multi-channel audio interface , then it would really be a power house .
But at least the Integra-7 gives you the 8 analog outs on the back , cool .

As far as I can remember there is no Roland board that supports more than 2 Audio channels over USB.
The guys have to sell their Audio Capture devices... LOL
