Fantom X Tone Copy Question
15 Apr 2012, 11:11I have an issue that driving me crazy. It has to do with the tone copy feature.
My goal is to create my own rhythm set by collecting different drum sounds from various kits and having them on one pad bank. Simple enough right? I go through the procedure of choosing the pads and the copy destination?
I navigate to the tone copy menu and I then choose the source which is the bank, number and the rhythm tone. The problem is when I scroll through the rhythm tones (c6,f8,etc.) it doesn't change the source from which where I want to copy.
For example, I choose to copy a drum sound to pad #1. (the destination) The source I choose to copy from (which is another rhythm set) will only allow me to copy from the same key (pad #1). Scrolling through the number doesn't have any effect on it. Interestingly enough though if you press the keyboard regardless of whether or not your playing drum sounds will actually display the drum key on the patch edit page. I don't know if that has anything to do with it but when your press compare, it defaults back to whatever patch is on pad #1 of the source and pad #1 of the destination.
What am I doing wrong? The only other idea is to go into every different rhythm set that I want to copy a drum sound from and change the pad settings within them and then copy the tones. This sounds redundant if you can do it another way. Sorry about rambling on. Does anyone have any ideas?
