live on-stage setup

live on-stage setup

From my G6, I am currently running one line to an old bass amp (back monitor), and another line to the pa mixer. Not happened with the overall sound. I think I may need a keyboard amp or a powered speaker so I can hear my keys better and improve the overall sound quality. Hopefully, I can make an informed decision based on Fantom G users that play gigs.

So, what is your on-stage setup? mono vs stereo? do you go from fg to amp to mixer? or fg to mixer to amp? etc. Thanks

I send stereo bass out of outputs 3 & 4 and the rest out of outputs 1 & 2. Goes straight into mixer then fed to a couple of full-range 15" cabs either side of stage and simultaneously into pa. Sub-bass is also fed directly from the mixer, we have one on stage as well as those on the pa. Great sound, great stereo spread, but you do need lots of auxiliary outs on your mixer to do this.

Hi -
I use stereo if possible. For our own pa I have a little submixer, mix the keyboards to stereo out, than split keys to the FOH and my Monitor submix. I get a monitor signal of the band back (from stage monitor mix or FOH) and mix both signals together in my Inear system. Sounds complicated - but I have full controll of my monitoring. When we use a local PA we use 4-5 Aux for monitoring. Its always good to have a own monitor way for the keys and don`t share with bass or drums. I usually use an active monitoring system, but don`t see any advantage to monitor stereo on the stage.
