RD-700NX - Sending controller info to it though MIDI

Is there a way to access the 4 parts being played live on the NX through MIDI? I know you can set Part Mode to 16PART which means the midi controller can play the same part you are playing and, as set out in the manual "you can specify program changes or bank selections within the song data so that the tone of the keyboard part will be switched automatically." What I want to see is whether you can use external controllers to send CC messages to the layer being played live on the RD700NX.

your timing is excellent. I'm having some problem programing my maudio axiom 25 midi out to NX's midi in. My goal is the same as yours. The problem may be in coordinating channels for Zone 1,2,3 which I need help with. Currently my Roland is set to Up1 @1 Up2 @ 2, Low1@3 and Low2 @4 ??? This coincided with my previous RD700 and I successfully had Zones 1,2, and 3 on my Axiom25 midi duplicate each respective Live Set or tones which I could selectively turn off on the Roland while still voicing on the Midi, I must be doing something stupid! Are you getting any sound from your Midi? Maybe we can both get help!!!

Thanks, agorn. I do get sound but I can't get the controller info sent from the remote device to be received on the layer being played on the NX.
