Grand Piano for Vsynth 2.0 (not GT)

Grand Piano for Vsynth 2.0 (not GT)

Does anyone know where I could get a decent sounding acoustic grand piano patch for the original V synth (patched to 2.0)? I understand that realistic acoustic instruments is not its forte by a long shot, but it is so versitile there has to be something out there...

Jim's for the GT sound absolutely amazing.

I tried creating my own, but I have poor access to equipment and poor samples. I am also very new to the whole thing.

If anyone knows about anything like this, or knows if Jim's could somehow be converted (I apologize if that's a ridiculous concept--I wouldn't know!) to work with the older V synth, please let me know!

Thank you.

Maybe you can buy Jim's and the adapt it to the V, as it is the best I'v seen so far. Just an idea...

I use lots of GT patches that I "converted" in order to be used on the XT !!

That's what I'd like to do, to be honest, and I've read some stuff on converting GT patches since this last post....I guess, just knowing that the GT is signifigantly more powerful, I don't feel very comfortable that they would convert....if I can't find anything else perhaps I will try it..

@Cym,
I guess, just knowing that the GT is signifigantly more powerful, I don't feel very comfortable that they would convert

GT is more powerful in several departments like:
- 2 tones per patch (upper+lower)
- Vocoder section can be used as a tone
- AP synthesis

In turn the XT/V-Synth 2.0 are multitimbral, however only with one effects section.

On the "conversion", except for patches using upper and lower tones, almost everything else can be convertd and used on the 2.0/XT

Well, I know that, I guess I was just concerned about having 2x tones per patch. Do we know if Jim's piano patches use this?

No I don't, but the best person to tell us about that is Jim.

Jim is sometimes around here, so maybe he can see this post.

The other alternative is email him.

@Kristijan
Yes, I use a similar approach as xmodz's, but I'm also using both V-Synth Librarians (GT and Original) to help me having an instant view of what I'm doing.

But that's pretty much it !!!

I'm going to make the Piano available a for the original V-Synth too. It should be ready later this week.

Hi Jim, I've just purchased your GT PIANO Patches and they are awesome.

I don't have a GT, so I had to convert them to be used on my XT, but they are perfect.

The only difficulty was to simulate the Lower Tone (Simple PAD), but using the Multitimbral feature of the XT, I managed to get that too...sort of, as there is only one Tone-FX in the XT, and there is no way to apply a different MFX to different Patches, so we need to improvise ;-)

Very nice indeed

Oh, wonderful! I suppose I shall just wait for it then, since I don't trust myself to convert the GT one quickly... Thank you! I'll keep an eye on your stoutsound.com site!

Hey, any word on the patches from Jim?

I also use the librarians for a little clean up after all the dirty work.

PauloF goes a step beyond what I did and uses both patch layers of the GT. It's so obvious now but I didn't realize it could be done until I read another one of his posts.
