Keyboard Clock - I would love it.

I've said it before in previous posts, but no one jumped in. I would find it very useful to have a clock and maybe even a timer built into my keyboards. I was in the middle of a set tonight and was wondering what time it was. I had to find an opportunity to flip my wrist in the middle of a number to figure out how many more songs we were to play for the set (the same thing I've been doing for 20 yrs). I looked down at my Korg TS88(my FAS, and FAS88 are on a truck headed for Michigan) and thought how easy it would be if it had an internal clock. I'm not aware of any keyboard that has this. My $200 CLIE PDA has a clock, why can't my keyboard(s).

I can't believe more gigging musicians haven't asked for this. It would be invaluable to me. Anyone else?

personally I would prefer a keyboard add some other feature related to music than adding a clock in there.

You can get a small backlit digital clock and stick on the keyboard any time.

True enough. However for me, my main use for my boards is live playing. So any feature that has to do with gigging to me is related to music - including the time, weight, reliability, ergonomics, and ease of setup. Also, I'm trying to eliminate extra setup steps, and eliminate maintenance of gear.

For instance, I'd trade a color or touch screen, the touchpads, or cd burner for a clock, timer, chromatic tuner, lyrics, chords, song notes, and an mp3 player. Then I could carry around less stuff, and not have to worry about repairs, batteries, etc. Just my needs. For me it's all got to do with music.

Unfortunately we professionals seem to be in the minority - hobbyists don't need clocks, tuners, etc...

BTW I agree - if the new color display can load custom pictures, there ought to be a clock. Great idea BB!
