Exchange SetUps

Exchange SetUps

6 Aug 2009, 12:20
Hi,

I wonder if there is a possibility for copiing a set-up from one set-up file to another...

I haved saved two different set-up files on the internal memory of my RD700GX, because i play in two different bands. Each set-up file contains about 70 different set-ups.
But now I like to copy several set-ups from set-up file A to set-up file B.

Does anybody know how to do that?
Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,
René

No it is not. Unfortunately, there is no way to copy from anything to anything. Sometimes I wonder why Roland cannot make a step further to make a musicians live easier.

Sure you can. It is a bit of a workaround but it works on my SX so i guess it works for the GX as well.

Load the setup you want to copy so it is in the "active memory".
Then load the setupfile you wish to copy it to. After it loaded, press write immedialty without pressing anything else and save the setup wich is still in the 'active memory" in the new setupfile.

have fun and let me know if it works for you..

hi edmusic,
this will maybe work for one setup. But don't tell me this workarround is an acceptable way to move more than one single setup to another whole setup file.
Roland makes good samples and sounds, but they always loose the whole picture and fail to recognise what featureset a musician could use or needs to make his job done.
Copying and loading features are just one thing where the RD lives somewhere in the middle of the last century.

Hi Ed,

Tnx for your reply.
It works, but mojkarma is right when he states that this can't be the way digital instruments should handle copying and loading files.

But for a single set-up, it's the only way to do it.

Greets,
René
