mv-8000 question

Hello .

Check it out I just got a mv-8000 pretty cheap and in good condition out of a pawn shop . Owner didn't have the money to get it out .

Well i am really really new to roland I am straight up a akai guy 3000 4000 2000 2500 u know the deal.

But I was reading the getting started manual and it came to i believing making a new patch or getting a new patch or what ever .

But my point is that none of the default patches or sounds rather seem to be there . I believe the last person who owned it actually had the settings customized to his work flow . But I want to restore them to default settings . I have read manuals and even googled it nothing came up .

Does any one know ?
I know the 8000 is running the os of 1.13 or something . Will upgrading it too 3.5 restore the settings ?

I will be thankful if someone can help me out .

You can restore at anytime- Here's how:

System> F5-Initialize Tab

Once executed the MV will revert to the factory standard settings.

You should upgrade to 3.52 ASAP- it raises the MV feature set to just under the 8800.

Hey
thanks for the tip I actually upgraded to 3.5 last nite .And yes I tryed this what you just sayd 30 mins ago and the 8000 seems to be the same as when I bought it. The song that the owner had ,keeps popping up when I turn the machine back on .

And also when I got into the instrument engine to change my patchs all of the libary is empty all the sounds have nothing in them at all .

From e.piano all the way down to akai .

Is there a way to restore them ?

In fact even when I did the upgrade and look at the 8000 HD on my computer . And i went threw the kits and sounds didnt see anything in there either only the sounds the last owner had .

Could it be that the owner delte the patchs out of the libary ? Is that even possible ?

P.S.
Sorry man I wont do it again .

Same thing happen to me when I got my MV8000... Yes those patches are not there, the ones your talking about is when you store your patches those are just sub titles.. Likek piano, sax, brass,etc.. those are for when you load samples onto the MV it gives you the correct directory.. When I get home I will email you the patches.. Someone else had to do the same thing for me.. But for starters go on the Roland website and search for Free products (updates section) and Mike created some new kits for us MV users, and search under the MV8000 and you will see some more kits you can download...

Call Roland.

Ask them to send you the CD of patches that are included with the MV when new.

Ask nicely, and they might send you the disc for free.

Hey guys, I am having the same problem. I just got my roland mv 8000 from guitar center, used and it has none of the patches its supposed to have. my email is mikeemike01@hotmail.com hook me up roland homies! or should I just try to shandangle a free cd from the awesome t support? Also any dnb patches or dub patches would be awesome. I got 13 crates of sick dnb and contempory dance music vinyl that I would share with like minded individuals, if you into crushing. I am.
