V synth as Midi controller?

V synth as Midi controller?

Currently I own a V synth XT & have been thinking of purchasing a classic Vsynth keyboard to go along with the rack & become my main keyboard.

What I wanted to know is can the vsynth Keyboard be used as a midi controller for my XT & other rack gear?

For instance I currently have a Korg M3 88 as my main keyboard( getting ready to sell) & I sequence everything threw my MPC.

Let say I use a bass patch from the M3.Next if I want to use any other peice of outboard gear to be controlled by the M3 keybed(XT for instance) all I have to do is make a change in my settings to external & I'm able to play the rack gear from the M3 keybed without it interfering with what's currently playing on the M3.

I guess what i'm asking is can the vsynth keyboard still be used as a midi controller, while a patch is currently in use on the vsynth?

Thank you in advance

Of course it can be used as MIDI controller for your XT and other gear, however, IMHO, a dedicated MIDI kbd controller would go very well with that setup. I mean, the XT, the V-synth and the MIDI controller. That way you could control the gear using 2 keyboards, which gives versatility to the set.

I agree with PaulOf. I have a m-audio keystation pro 88 hooked up that i use to control my v synth.
