HELP - Mouse Problem

HELP - Mouse Problem

19 Feb 2009, 22:25
Hi people.
I have a G7, 1.20 OS. I used to use a generec Genius Wireless Mouse with sucess.
Today I bought a Microsoft Wireless Mouse and it didn't work on the Fantom. Now the old Genius Mouse doesn't work either.
I did factory reset two times and nothing changed.

Anyone can help me?

I've had some trouble with my wireless (optical) mouse locking up the Fantom. It happens every couple of days. Nothing major.

Sometime it'll lockup during a write operation. Don't shut off the unit. If you unplug the mouse and re-insert it, it sometimes will complete the operation.

To keep the USB mouse port on the Fantom from getting messed up, I use a short USB extension cord. It's easier to unplug the mouse without having to look to the back of the unit.

I'm using 1.20 of the OS

I had no luck making a logitech wireless mouse to work with the Fantom-G. My Microsoft wheel mouse works perfectly, though.

Why don't we create a sticky thread for compatible mice and every can list their mouse and model that works or does not work with the FG??

The mouse I use with my Fantom-G is a simple Microsoft wheel mouse, I think it's something like this.

On page 21 of the manual it states that you should use a two button wheel mouse. My optical mouse wouldn't work but when I bought a wheel type it worked fine.

I use a Logitech marble mouse trackball and I hate it. I hardly ever use it. I only use it to access the 'keyboard' function, but the fact is I'd rather connect a qwerty keyboard than a mouse for that... If Roland would implement more mouse functionality, then perhaps I would change my ways...

I tried my VX Nano in the Fantom-G. In fact, every mouse I've connected, and I've got quite a few, both wired and wireless, has worked absolutely fine.

However, the awkward bit is finding a mouse that can be used on the synth's casing (I mean the top right corner, of course) without constantly sliding off.

I suppose a mouse mat with a lot of friction would do the trick but these tend to be rather larger than the space available on the G6 (more room on the G7 and G8 though).

The mouse I've ended up using, and which doesn't slide out of position, is a very small one I bought from PC World: the PC Line PCL-WN01. It's very basic and smaller than I'd probably prefer but at least it stays in place.
