Fantom G and Sample sets.

Hello Everyone.

Just wanted to say that i had a chance to play a G8 yesterday and i really enjoyed the experiance.Right away i heard how big the sounds was comming out of a roland Kc 500 amp and i knew that was one of the factors for me to chose a G over the X,i like the way it sounded and the fact that i would buy expansion cards for the X,it kiinda average out about the same.
Any way,my question was about the sample sets. This where you save all drum samples and etc..does the fantom G have flash ram? you know after i save them will those sounds be booted up when the G is turn on?

You save samples either to the 50Mb internal memory or to USB stick. They are booted with the present project.

Jim is totally correct. Also, I want to add that samples can also be used within patches and rhythm kits, not just within sample sets.

Ok,i just thought thats where all the samples go.Well; how should one use or take advantage of the sample sets?

Sample set contains 16 samples vs. 128 rhythm kit, and it's vastly simplified, so it is damn quick to assign samples into a sample kit, set up playback mode (gated for loops, or one-shot for drums), mute groups and go play. This patch type is great when you want to do things quickly.

Thats Cool,so can i bring a sample set into the seqencer?cause i think it would be better if a made drum kits in the sample set and use it in the seqencer. And also i assume
you can asighn those samples sets to the pads, correct?

Yes, all is correct. In both studio and live modes, any of the parts can be patches, rhythm kits or sample sets. Any of these can be on the pads too.

Do you know if the Fantom-G will support 3rd party sample sets? As with the MV8800, you can load sample sets made for the MPC. I think this feature would make the G the absolute best workstation on the market.
