V-Synth midi data

OK, I need some explanation on what the V-Synth transmits on the midi out. I'm recording the midi data and the audio output.

I get notes and D-Beam info.

When I edit patches while playing, that information is not sent.

When I use the time trip pad with the VC-1 D50 card, that information is not sent.

I essentially want to send all real time data out the midi port to be recorded in my software.

Thanks,

Mark

Some V-Synth controllers like the pitch bender, mod wheel, aftertouch and D-beams send MIDI controller events. However, the rest sends System Exclusive messages. Your MIDI sequencer must be told to receive such messages (called SysEx messages in short).

Yes, I can send and receive sysex, but I've usually used this an initialization process, not realtime controller.

I checked my recorded midi track and it had note data and pitch bend controller data, but no sysex data. I'll check that my V-Synth is configured to send sysex. I recall seeing in the setup menu the ability to turn on/off a variety of different features.

Thanks!

In the system menu, there is a TX Edit switch that was turned off. With it on, the sysex data now freely flows.

The V-Synth is an awesome beast for recording tracks.
