Fantom X Discontinued

This was leaked on MSNBC moments ago. Senior Managing Director and Marketing Director, Ichiro Nishizawa is scheduled to announce at a press conference tomorrow that Roland is going to discontinue production of the Fantom X on July 31, 2007 and discontinue support after December 31, 2007. This move fuels the ongoing rumors that Roland will be phasing out of keyboard production in an effort to cut costs and will instead focus on its other divisions. Speculation began to gain steam when its was leaked that Roland canceled production of its new workstation scheduled to be released to the public in late spring of 2008. Financial Forecasters have speculated that Roland was in financial trouble for some time and this move confirms their fears. I will bring you more information as it becomes available.

I am a long time Roland fan and would be devistaded if they stopped making hardware... I replied to a post the other day about what you don't like about the Fantom line. I feel like such an ass for wanting a machine that answered all of my wishes when I had a machine that allowed me to live my dreams.

sorry guys, the fantom x won't be discontinued for at least one more NAMM. it still stacks up pretty good against the Triton and the Motif ES and until the M3 is a real product, I think the Fantom is still the best workstation in the stores.

Authorities today arrested Roland Clan Forums Member Silver Dragon Sound in Operation April Fools Day. According to Forum Moderator, Artemio, aka the man, this member had become a public nuisance and this was long over due. Authorities stated, starting a thread which states false information in regards to the Fantom X is something we take seriously and we will take the appropriate steps to make sure this member is dealt with appropriately. Member Silver Dragon Sound could not be reached for comment as he currently being treated for shower injuries he suffered when he dropped the soap.

You know, if I was really sure that Fantom X would be discontinued and that no similar product will be produce by Roland in short term, I would certainly buy 10 Fantoms, can you guess why?

Yep, you can profit very well being the one who holds 10 units of what was the Roland last synthesizer to be produced....

I know for a fact that the fantom xa has been discontinued. All is not lost though, cause now you can pick em up for dirt cheap. I got a floor model for 700. Not bad for a keyboard that was going for 1300 two months ago.

As long as they don't stop supporting the x and making srx boards, I think I'll be alright.

You all probably already knew this, but thought I'd post anyway.
