EDIT/NOTE: The following is just based on my personal experiences with my previous GT and the catharsis caused by the experience. The text is 100% speculative in its sections concerning Roland as a company. However, all...
No more USB clocking problems here: I sold my GT last Saturday. (I actually wrote a much longer letter here, but I felt it was not that important a topic. :-D)
After updating my GT to v 2.0 I first encountered longish boot times - mine was up to 18 minutes, which was kinda boring, I'd say. :-D However, that was my own fault: I had just attached my GT to my laptop and simply rep...
Well, if you don't need USB and tempo synced delays, you're just fine. :-D You'll most likely notice some serious sluggishness in some patches, where both Upper and Lower Tones are being used, especially if there's Arpeg...
Hopefully Roland is not suffering from recession and economical depression and they don't kick their engineers out. You see, according to this thread, I wouldn't trust Roland guys operating my guts or teeth if they canno...
kokocalamar: No, I don't think so. I'm quite paranoid about tech bugs, so I tried five (5) cables, just in case. They were all same length (1.5 m), two of them were "USB 2.0 spec" (ooh wow), i.e. just the same shit as ev...
I don't believe in blaming sequencer software when it comes to delay bugs. That's usually lazy (or just nonchalant) people talking. I've used Ableton Live 7.0.10, Logic Pro 8.0.2 and a version of Digital Performer I can'...

Damn you Roland guys, the "wobbling midi sync delay" bug is still there, causing artifacts AND IT'S 2009 (it would have been relatively acceptable with a JD-990, but in that one you happened to get the delay all right)....
Unfortunately, no. Not the way Virus TI could be used. Or, at least, not yet. You should treat it like a normal midisynth, except that you can route both audio and midi thru USB, one cable instead of four. I'm not PC use...
