Loop Glitch / Triggering problem
18 Jun 2005, 19:37Hello Everyone.
Boy am I glad I found this forum! This is my first attempt at looping drum samples, so I'm sure this is a total newb mistake.
I'm getting this weird glitch when I try to use a pre-made drum loop in the sequencer.
According to the sampler disk, the loop is running at 135 bpm. I loop it in QuickTime on my laptop, sounds fine. Then I import it into the Fantom, set the parameters for 135bpm and FWD loop mode. I reset the grid and everything lines up like it should. I then assigned the sample to one of the pads. I can hold it down indefinitely and it loops perfectly.
So then off to sequencing. I start a new song, set the tempo to 135bpm, and then start step sequencing in the loop. I set the note length to a whole note (since it's a four bar loop), and hit the pad a bunch of times.
Now, when I play back the sequence, I get this funny double-triggered glitch sound every time the sample loops. Come to think of it, the sample just sounds bad in general when I play it back with the sequencer. What did I do wrong?
You can hear the problem in the attached clip, particularly when the sample loops and ends. If I can get this solved, it'd make my weekend.
