Creating a complete song from Loop

Creating a complete song from Loop

20 Apr 2005, 16:15
Hey,

I am a newbie and should also mention that my new X8 does not have the 2.0 upgrade yet.

I have created a song in Mix mode consisting of 8 bar beats and samples. I can use the Pad Mute function and Mix on the fly to create the complete song. What I would like to do is Re-Sample this on the fly mixing into a complete song.

When I enable Sampling mode I lose the ability to use my pads for muting the parts.

If what I just wrote makes any sense it was just an accident.

I know I can use the digital or analog outs to go to an external recording device but I would prefer to use internal sampling.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Todd

you cannot do any realtime edit in that manner on the fx
the fx is a one mode device
and although its promoted as a performace synth its a workstation for reason mentioned here..

Thanks for the info, that is the way it usually goes for me. Always trying to do more than the system is capable of giving.

If you have your sequencer set with all tracks recorded for 8 bars can you record a control track to turn mutes on and off while extending the song past 8 bars? Not sure if this makes sense and probably not possible but worth a shot...

Thanks,

Todd

start recording frrom start of any track in the normal way.
then when you have closed the realtime recording window
hit f3
you can now start muteing any track while also playing/recording realtime.
