Scene with 16 external zones on 16 channels?

I'm trying to setup a scene for a purely VSTi workflow in Ableton. When I select the scene, I'd like to be able to arm 16 tracks at once in Ableton, with each listening on a different MIDI channel and then use the zone select buttons on the Fantom-0 to jump between transmitting channels.

For some reason I can't seem to configure the zones to transmit on just one channel. In my first attempt, I had all 16 set to EXT, MIDI Tx Port=USB, Ports 1->16. But every key press was sending notes on all 16 channels.

I initialized the scene and started over. I tried to use Zone Select, Assign, and Shift+clicking zone numbers to configure each zone to (I think) transmit on one of EXT channels. This worked for channel 1, but the second I tried to add zone 2/channel 2, it started transmitting on channels 1+2. Likewise when I added 3, it transmitted on 1-3. I can't seem to set this up so that each zone is mutually exclusive/transmits on the corresponding channel. Any ideas?

Try the following: Initialize the scene. It will create a scene with all zones turned off. If you select a zone, then the Fantom will send MIDI events to both the local tone engine and via USB. If you do not want to hear the local tone engine, then turn down the volume of the Fantom.

I can think of other ways. However, this seems to be the easiest way to do what you described.
