Recording with pads as mute switches

I have a Fantom-s,

I was wondering if it is possibile to do this:

I want to take my song that has 9 tracks and set up the pads so that they could each trigger a mute/unmute for a track. Also, I would like to be able to record like that right in the Fantom's sequencer,

can anyone help?

im also interested in making patters and assigning them to pads...

when you're in the mixer screen, I think it's F3, but it will allow the pads to act as mutes. To record it, you have to select one thing in the system screen....can't remember off the top of my head, but I got the answer on this site.

is that only for the fantom-x? it doesnt seem to work on my S.

doh. that's bunk. yeah, I'm not sure about the S. The X is the first fantom I've owned. Arteimo can probably help you out. I'm sure he has an FAQ about it somewhere here.
