Scene Change mutes output when connected to ableton

23 Nov 2020, 13:22
I have my Jupiter X connected to a Windows PC running ableton. I can work with the sequencer, but when I change the scene, there is no more output signal. The synth responds to the buttons, but there is no sound.
When go back to the original scene it does not help. The only thing that helps, is to disconnect the USB. After that I can use everything again, until the next scene change. I tried a factory reset, but the problem persists.
I use bank 16, scene 16 to design a good scene for the sequence I recorded. Software is 1.30.
Please help!

Muting seems only to happen when changing from a scene with iArpeggio on to one with iArpeggio off.

Ok, I could make it work with the right settings:
On the Jupite (Menu/System)r:
Tempo Src: Scene
Sync Mode: Auto
Sync Out: Off
On Ableton (Options/Preferences/MIDI):
In the Jupiter X Input row only "Track" on, in the Output row Track and Sync on.

This way the DAW defines the tempo and the iArpeggio does its job. Oh, and you must use a different keyboard to play, because otherwise ableton would record the output of the iArpeggio.
But maybe all this is more an issue of my workflow, I usually record only the MIDI that I play in ableton, so that I can fine tune the sounds etc. in the mix.
