Sustain aka Hold pedal not working!?

I’m almost too embarrassed to ask the question. I can’t seem to get the “Hold” pedal to work on my Jupiter X. I’ve tried different pedals, and been into the system menu to no avail.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: I got the sustain / hold pedal function to work finally. Hopefully this is save someone else some time and aggravation. My X will not recognize either the Yamaha FC3A pedal or the standard Kurzweil pedal that came with the Kurzweil SP-76. In desperation, I tried a Yamaha FC5 foot switch and it worked! The M-Audio SP2 pedal also works.

FWIW, there's a polarity switch in system settings:

Hold Pole
STANDARD,
REVERSE
Specifies the polarity of the pedal connected to the HOLD jack.

Thanks Foksadure, I did try the polarity setting to no avail. The X must really hate the Yamaha FC3A, it does have a half damper feature. Don’t know if that compilation is why it didn’t work or not?

Thanks for clearing that out.
I'm using an old Roland DP-2, which is basically an on/off switch on a TS Jack.
Not sure digital piano damper pedals are just that.

not the keyboards fault - its the pedal.

im using roland pedals on the fantom and X and the hold works as expected.

I'm gonna jump in here. This has to be a bug. I just brought my jupiter-x home and I cannot get either of my pedals to switch poles with it, no matter how I set the Hold Pole. Each one is a different polarity and each one works just fine switching the polarity in my Deepmind 12.

Has anyone actually gotten pedals to behave differently with the hold pole setting?

Ok, it's not a bug. Here's how you get it to work globally. change Hold Source to SYS from SCENE and then set the Hold Pole to reverse.

My bad, but I hope what I discovered here will help someone so I can redeem myself :)
