The kits of a "Drum" track all get assigned to the same Track/MIDI channel with each drum being a different MIDI note, so not really sure what you're asking if your'e already working on making one.

Hi there;

I also would like to be able to help you with this, but I'm not sure I understand your question, so let's dig a little deeper. (I have a 707, not a 101, but the setup should be the same.)

So from what I understand from your question you would like a drum kit where each of the sounds is triggered by a different MIDI note on the same MIDI channel - if you played the keys on a keyboard you would be able to play different drum sounds as you play up the keyboard - is that correct? If that is your question, then that is the way the 707/101 already works - when I play a C1 on my MIDI keyboard it triggers the drum sound assigned to Pad 9 (the lower left pad on the 707) for example. If I wanted this key on the keyboard to trigger a different sound I would assign a different sound to that pad, and when I hit C1 on the keyboard it would trigger whatever sound I assigned to Pad 9.

If you are trying to assign a drum sound to a specific MIDI channel you would need to make each of the 8 tracks of the 707 (or 4 tracks of the 101) a drum track with a single sound loaded - or maybe better still, a tone track with a drum sound loaded, which would allow you to play pitched versions of that drum sound based on the MIDI note you play. You would then set each track of the 707/101 to a different MIDI channel, and then have to map your keyboard to transmit across multiple MIDI channels.

Does this help you?

If not, please give us more info about what you'd like to do.

Good luck and all the best,,
kS

Is it possible to save folders on the MC 707 like on the Octatrack? In order to avoid having to scroll through thousands of user samples to select which you want to use?

And can you save the drums you have assigned to each pad as a Kit? How?

Thank you
