Drummer since 1966, first keyboard

The very small stages encountered with my last band caused me to buy a Roland Handsonic HPD-10 and then HPD-20 to use with triggers as a complete drum set in a tiny space. I bought the HPD-20 in order to use samples but the SuperNATURAL sound engine was so good that I never bothered with samples. When playing an acoustic kit I always find a space for the HPD-20 which I particularly appreciate when using brushes.

I also play guitar, but switching between drums and guitar is difficult and requires additional space. It occurred to me that I could put a small keyboard above the Handsonic, either by themselves or with a kit. I'm going to add a trigger to the 18" bass drum in my Sapele stave bop kit to better integrate acoustic and electronic.

So I wanted a small keyboard with SuperNATURAL quality emulations and, especially as I have a Windows tablet for the editor, the JDXi seemed the best choice. My electronics stack will consist of a Handsonic HPD-20, JDXi and at the top a tablet running editor and a TC Electonic Nova Modulator.

Interesting, I assume when you say editor for Windows you mean the 'JDXi Manager'.

Since I didn't write the 'JDXi Manager' with touch control in mind (and I don't own a Windows tablet to test it), I'd be curious to know how usable (if at all) the editor is with touch control.

Or do you use a mouse with your Windows tablet for the editor?

Welcome on this forum BTW. :)
