Recording patterns

I have a Fantom X6. The patterns that I attempt to record keep disappearing. What am I doing wrong? I press ptn, I hit record, I record the pattern, I save it, then I pull up the the song I want to play. HIt shift rps, go through the motions of assigning the pattern to a key pad. the pattern is not there.

How do you save your song? You have to use SAVE/LOAD -> Save Song to save it.

Yes, I do use save/load to save the songs.
