Get Smart Media Card and will save your problem. I had same problem.
I extended my on board RAM to be able to sample but when I saved it I had same problem. Then I got Smart Media Card and saved my samples on the card.
No more problems.

Hehehe I guess we're in the same boat. I thought "yeah i'll buy the ram and then i can sample" but i guess there is always more more and more.

Oh well, have to go buy a card adapter.. I can buy a pc card that goes into the synth and on the other side has a usb port that can plug directly to my pc. is that a good idea? can I do it that way? or is there a better way?

Buy smart media card. Save your sample on it, then copy your sample by USB to PC.
I got this from Artemio

Read the FAQ: http://fantomized.info/docs/faq/FantomSX-Newbie-FAQ.html#5.2

Sampling / 5.2 How do I resample my song and transfer it to computer for editing/CD burning/MP3 creation?

Read it. This is good stuff.

Well...
Let's consider your own computer. Can anyone installed 1Gb program on hard disk with half GB? Computer may have 1Gb RAM but It does need storage space of programs and data first.
The same thing with FantomX too. Audio data has to be placed somewhere first before processing them into the RAM.
And call this a BUG?
Give me a break!
Yeah.. get memory card of somekind. If you can afford the machine, stop whining about that little memory card.
OR did you steal that machine? Hope not.

jcmedo80: if you have an X, then you need a PC card adaptor plus a card (CF, SM or whichever adaptor you choose), and if you have an S/S88 you can only use SM cards.

Artemio.
Hey, I have the X8, I went and bought a pc card adapter that houses 4 different memory card types. As I already have a few 256mb sony memory sticks, I 'm just using one of those for now as it does what I need it to do.
