re sample pad section

Hi i currently don't own a FA but i'm almost there hitting the BUY button!

so can i load up individual drum samples on the pads then create drum patterns with the seqencer and then resample that pattern to another pad?

same idea with vocals can i multi track the vocals on say 6 pads then mix down to a single pad as they play back?

Yes, you can. Simply put the samples with the drum-tracks (or voice) in a track of the sequencer (don't forget to switch the Gate to off at each sample, orherwise the sample stopps after a time), create your song and record it to a DAW. Then import this "song" to another pad.

so to clarify you can't do this with just the FA-06 i need to export to Logic X or another DAW?

can i not play the SEQ back and record just the pad seq (mute the other tracks) and sample that onto a spare pad?

samples cannot be resampled.
One way could be to mixdown the sample track and import sample to one pad.

drat, that's a workflow hiccup then

so i can sample a seq running from the supernatural synth section, audio input or the pcm synth section but not from pads programmed to play from the seq?

for example pad 1,2,3,4 playing and sample that to pad 5?
sorry to be a pain just want to be absolutely clear on this!

no not possible. the sample pads are not full integrated into the FA as we know from the Fantoms (look at the pad track options...). It is nothing more than a Roland simple sample player (dont know the model) incorporated into the FA. No record while play.

Hi cresshead. So with this unwelcome knowledge, (no Recording samples whilst Playing samples)... would that be a deal-breaker on your new new FA?

Or maybe consider comprises for re-sampling your FA's pads? Using a DAW... or a Voice recorder...or maybe using an Akai MPX16 (for instance)?

not a deal breaker, just mean it's not all self contained..but the sample playback is still cool

i guess i'd just record the drum seq or vocals out to my zoom H2N then playback via the audio In and record onto a new pad.

i want to stay away from computers! - too distracting
