Getting I7 to respond to V-Synth GT in Cubase?

Getting I7 to respond to V-Synth GT in Cubase?

I'm using Cubase 7.5 and I have my 16 channels of I-7 set up as a project template. Midi input for each channel is set to "All MIDI Inputs". Using the GT as my temporary midi controller, each channel will respond to the keyboard but none of the v-synth matrix settings are received by any of the channels EXCEPT when I set the Input for a particular channel to just the GT. I want the I-7 to be controlled by more than just the GT at once. Is there a setting I'm missing? I should mention that the midi indicator does respond to the time trip pad, knobs and buttons even in "All MIDI Inputs" mode.

I don't have my V-synth anymore (I kick myself every day but it had to be done) but if I am remembering correctly isn't the Matrix control used for setting how external controls affect the V-synth and not the other way around?

My guess about the controls you are sending not affecting the Integra would be that the knobs and TT Pad are sending messages, but they are not set to send the messages you want.

I didn't use my V-synth as a controller so I really am just throwing out ideas here. I think it only transmits on one midi channel at a time so you may have to set up the channel outputs in Cubase as well for the controls to send correctly.

I got it to work but I don't understand why: On the GT I had the transmit channel set to same as recieve. If I change the the transmit channel to any other channel. then the I7 receives the control data as it should and I can leave the Cubase Inspector midi input set to all MIDI Inputs. darned if i know why it works that way ;-(
