The integra in different genres, typical expantion usages?

Hello there. Just a couple of questions to spark some discussion.

1. given that the integra has practically the entire spectrum of roland sounds covered, would you say it's better at certain genres than others? Or, put another way, if you had a dance track in mind, would you immediately reach for srx5 and srx8? Classical, srx6, perhaps 9, 11? how about the xpcm sounds?
2. Have people tried porting old GS midis to the i7? not just the standard 226 instrument gs, but old compositions from your sc-88's, 88pro's, etc? I still have an sc-88 and a juno-g and love them both, but seems the i7 could cover all those sounds, and a hole lot more! the mfx per channel also is what I've dreamed of for years, too!
Lastly, is there a topic on the board where people can share demos and work that's produced with the i7? if not, I'd like to suggest such a place. :)

thanks!

For classical / symphonic music, I definitely need the SRX 06, 04 strings and 10 brass.
I'm presently thinking of which combinations are most useful for the different 'environments' in which I use the Integra. For the band context (swing and pop music), I decided I can do without the SRX 04 as there are good string sections on the SRX 06 already, but a lot of sounds from the SRX 03 studio are useful there. So my band combination is SRX 03, 06, 09 and 10. However, unfortunately I can't use the SRX 07 then, which would be useful, too. As I also own a BK-7m, it has to about 80 important sounds from the word board 09, so in combination, I could replace the 09 by the 07 in the Integra slots. Anyway, it would be great to have more than 4 slots.

Now that I have an Integra-7, I fully agree that despite the SN sounds being great, 4 slots is not enough due to the combinations I would like to have without changing to a different Studio set and not having to load another Expansion Card combination...

To overcome the issue, I created several similar Studio Sets with (almost) the same Sounds but a couple that use a different Exp Card... Not ideal, but better than nothing (apart the extra loading time).

I'm mainly interested in acoustic in acoustic sounds used for jazz/rock/soul/country/blues compositions, and I'd say that the Integra is now the best hardware-based module out there offering the best selection of new (SN-A) and old (XV/SRX) sounds. For jazz in particular, the breathteaking realism of the saxes, sopranos and acoustic basses are superb and the new B3 emulations with adjustable drawbars, percussion and rotary settings is the best Roland has ever offered in a module.

However, the Integra is lacking SN-A sounds in certain areas. For example, there's not a single banjo or pedal steer guitar and the selection of acoustic guitars is pretty lousy. The selection of ethnic instruments is pretty poor. For these sounds i have go to the SRX-09 card. I'm also not overly impressed by the EPs, either.

In terms of posting your demos, I suppose you could put links to songs here. If you want, I can post a link to your demos on my dedicated Integra-7 blog, http://integra7zone.blogspot.com/ which gets between 200-500 visitors a week.

If you want to PM me with the link and some information about you and the song, that would be fine.

Instead of making changes in the set, you must make changes in the combination of the slots.
