Quick Question

Quick Question

Hi All,

I am a new fantom owner and am excited to begin creating! I have a small issue though, after reading the manual and the roland studio mode workshops I have kind of hit a wall. I've set up the midi in my daw so I can play the 16 parts in studio mode...that all works fine. But, what is driving me absolutely insane is when I goto record midi in my Daw the fantom automatically switches out of the studio set I have picked and begins playing the demo song from the first studio set!

can any one chime in and tell me what Im missing here?

Thanks in advance

Probably you've set up the Fantom as a slave to midi. Sync is not necesary if you are not planning to syncronize two sequencers. In your case, the PC DAW seems to be using the Fantom like an external sound module, thus it is not necesary to slave the Fantom to midi. Just turn off the keyboard switch from the System, and set the Fantom as a Master device but with the same tempo as the DAW. In this way, when you hit REC / PLAY on the DAW the Fantom shouldn't do anything with its own sequencer. If you want to take some aditional precautions, select an empty song before setting up your sounds.
