Congratulations.
That's what I would call a dream setup.

I'm about to do the exact same thing this weekend!

Have fun with your mistresses.

Greetings all. I am a newbie to this forum and have been lurking for about a week waiting to pick up my gear and reading all the posts. This JP-80 vs. Kronos controversey is something. I couldn't decide so I just went nuts and bought both of them. And yes I am in love, two mistresses now to keep me busy. Two different amazons for two different purposes and they are both amaxing in their own right for what they are designed to accomplish. The JP-80 violins are . . . holy moley, just simply stunning. Karma on the Kronos is trippy. Coming from an M3 virtually no learning curve for me at all. My bonafides are attached. I will report back as I get to know the girls a little better.
Congratulations!!! That's a dream set allright!!

By the way... Seeing both monsters at the same time... Can you take a closer range photo showing both displays at the same time ( and showing parameter info) ?

Cheers and enjoy your ladies (mistresses doesn't seem appropriate...)

They a make a good pair. I have had the Kronos 88 for almost 3 months and the Jupiter for the last 2 months. I will admit however, that I find myself at the Jupiter far more often than the Kronos.

Congratulations! Yes, having both is really a fantastic set up. Not just the different sound-sets which they both bring to the table....but the ways you can integrate them. Don't forget to plug the JP80 into the Kronos audio inputs and route them through unique modulations and effects. Also, use the KRONOS sequencer to control the JP80, and route KARMA out to the JP80. Record the whole thing on either Kronos or JP80's recorders. Lots of possibilities when you think about it. I must agree, the strings, in particular the violins, on the JP80 are the most expressive I have ever played....even East West or Vienna stuff does not compare to the playability of this.

Yep, that's my goal, Kronos on bottom and Jupiter 80 top. Kronos is great and works well for personal samples, sequenced tracks and main keyboard parts;pianos, organs, clavs etc. Jupiter will serve for live horns, strings.
It's a great time in the evolution of keyboards. I still own my first synth the venerable Jupiter 6. 6 notes of polyphony with split hardwired to either 4 and 2 voices or vice versa.

Great combination! Very impressive on stage as well!

Haha.. yea his two other posts repeat someone elses post word for word also.. me thinks it's a bot building up a post count before being able to spam everyone with adverts..

Back on Topic.. I just signed up here as I'm having a JP-80 delivered Saturday and should hopefully have my Kronos 61 the week after :D .. can't wait. (will no doubt be back asking how I connect the two to pass karma to the roland)

Congrats! Get ready....you are going to be in love.

Pass Karma is easy....one midi cable between the two. A few settings in Kronos...but that may be better posted on KorgForums. Match the midi channels.. done.

Write back when its in!
