RD700NX USB MP3 Volume

RD700NX USB MP3 Volume

5 Jun 2011, 06:59
I'm enjoying my new RD700NX except for one very annoying problem. When I play an MP3 from the USB key the volume always starts at at max volume. I can go through the process of hitting "Menu", "8", "0" then scroll down to lower the volume from 64 to something around 30. I can then play an instrument voice over the song and hear how it sounds. When I change instruments, the volume of the song on the USB key jumps back to max volume and I have to hit "Menu", "8", "0" then scroll down to lower the volume again. Every time I change the voice the volume jumps again. This is a HUGE pain when trying to find the right sound to play over a particular song. Anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution?

Thanks,

David

Hi, i can only speak for the RD700GX. Instead of going through the menu, i use the following shortcut for changing volume for mp3-playback:

While mp3 is playing, press AND hold the "Song"-Button and the volume can then be adjusted by the first volume-zone-slider.

Hope this helps for your NX, too.

Robert you genius! Thank you! While I still can't set the volume as a default, your trick works. It's slightly different on NX. Pressing and holding the song button brings up a window on the display screen showing the volume (at the max of 64) which can then be dialed back with the selection wheel. It's still a pain but at least it's easier to address this way.

Thanks again for sharing this tip.

David, good to hear it helps :-)
btw: adjusting the volume while playback with the "Audio-Key" works the same way, at least on the GX.
